COVID Information

2/02/2022

I am currently seeing clients in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I require you to be fully vaccinated and to upload your vaccine card prior to the first session. If you have symptoms or have been exposed, please cancel or switch to video. There will be no charge for sessions late cancelled due to COVID. I do consider therapy to be somewhat high risk as we sit in a room together for an hour while talking. Please wear your mask while inside in the common areas of the building; however, once you are in my office you can choose to either remove your mask or leave it on and I will follow your lead. I continue to offer Telehealth on those days as well as Mondays and Fridays.

I hope to resume in-person appointments soon; however, while San Diego is still teetering between the red and purple restrictive tiers I will only be offering Telehealth video sessions.

Due to the California wide stay at home order, I will no longer be seeing clients face to face. I am currently offering Telehealth (i.e. video) sessions. While I much prefer face to face, this is the only current viable option.

Process:

You can see a link for the Telehealth appointment in the client portal. Also, it will be emailed to you before the session. If you can’t find those, I can text/email you a link manually.

From a computer, you can click on the link and use your computer’s camera/microphone through your browser (you may have to grant privileges.) If you are using your phone or tablet, you will be prompted to download the Telehealth app to participate in this HPPA compliant session, which will NOT be recorded or saved. I suggest you try to login on before the session starts to have time to resolve any technical issues.

Please have a private place where you will not be disturbed or overheard. You will have to complete a Telehealth consent prior to the first session, which outlines the risks and benefits of using this method. At the start of each session I will have you confirm your name, location, phone number, and emergency contact.

Thank you for your patience during these difficult times.

For the time being, I feel I am able to comply with California distancing guidelines and will continue to see patients until the city or government advises stricter isolation rules. Our office has little to no overlap in the waiting room between sessions so interactions with others are minimized.

I ask that if you feel unwell or at risk, please cancel your appointment. As long as you let me know you aren’t coming in, I will be waiving all late cancellation fees for the month of March.

While in the office, I will be regularly wiping door handles and surfaces. There will be no physical contact.

I will also be offering Telehealth sessions, i.e. sessions conducted by video through a HPPA compliant system. This will require internet access on your part and a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Also, I will provide a release for you to sign authorizing Telehealth. At that start of each session, per established best practice guidelines, I will have you verbally confirm your name, location address, and contact phone number in case of emergency. I will only do Telehealth with patients that I have been able to evaluate in person and for whom Telehealth is an appropriate method of care.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out via messaging or phone call.

Thank you,

Lori
